At Industry Modernism, we strive to ensure that you are completely satisfied with your purchase. If you need to make a return or exchange, we are here to assist you. Please review the following policy to understand the process and conditions for returning or exchanging your items.
1. Return Process
Initiating a Return: If you are not fully satisfied with your purchase, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order. You can reach us at:

Email: cs@industrymodernism.comCondition of Items: All items must be returned in their original condition. This includes retaining all packaging materials, merchandise tags, and the original receipt. Returns will only be accepted at our warehouse, with the exception of accessories, which may be returned to your local store.
Shipping and Delivery Charges: Shipping and delivery charges are non-refundable. The cost of return shipping is your responsibility, unless the return is due to a manufacturing defect or transit damage.
2. Restocking Fees
General Items: A restocking fee of 10% of the total purchase price will be deducted from your refund on all items, except for select performance seating.
Select Performance Seating: Returns for select performance seating will incur a $59 return shipping fee. If the original packaging is no longer available, a 10% restocking fee will be applied instead of the $59 return shipping fee.
Exchanges: Restocking fees will be waived during the exchange process for products of equal or greater value. Shipping and delivery charges are still non-refundable, and refunds will be issued as merchandise credit.
3. Refunds
With Receipt: Refunds for returns with a receipt will be processed to the original payment method.
With Gift Receipt: Returns with a gift receipt will be refunded as merchandise credit.
Original Discounts and Promotions: Returns will reflect the original discounts and promotions applied to the purchase.
4. Proof of Purchase
To process returns, exchanges, or refunds, you must provide proof of purchase. Acceptable proofs include:
- Original paper receipt
- Gift receipt
- E-receipt
- Original packing slip
- Gift packing slip
- Order number
5. Non-Returnable Items
Certain items cannot be returned or exchanged:
- Gift cards
- Floor samples and items purchased from Industry Modernism Store
- Items marked as “final sale” or “non-refundable”
- Custom and special-order items
- Items that have been installed
- Preconfigured office bundles that cannot be partially returned
6. Clearance Items
All sales are final on items marked as “final sale,” except for damaged, defective, or incorrect items. If there is an issue with your order, please contact us within three (3) days of receipt. Final sale items are not eligible for price adjustments.
7. Order Cancellations
Before Shipping: Orders for items that have not yet shipped or are on backorder can be canceled.
After Shipping: Once an item has shipped, cancellation is not possible.
Credit Card Charges: Your credit card will be charged as each item is shipped.
Custom and Special Orders: These cannot be canceled once placed.
8. Risk of Loss
All items purchased are made pursuant to a shipment contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for such items pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier. If you placed an order with a purchase order, the shipping terms of FOB shipping dock will supersede any shipping terms in your purchase order.
